It’s a long holiday weekend in the U.S. and Canada and the highest four days of beer consumption the entire year.
That means toilet flushing increases by about 40 per cent. For those of you out at the bars this weekend…careful where you step.
I don’t drink beer but here’s a burger burp in celebration. Oops. Sorry…the mic didn’t pick that up. It was massive and totally unexpected. I usually need to add a few onion rings and a Coke to produce something that moist.
Since it’s the long weekend and everyone’s sucking back the brew, I’m alone in the studio with no P.A. making my life a living hell. I gave Sally the weekend off and a coupon for a free bucket of KFC. That girl knows she’s got it good.
So. Because I don’t have someone telling me I can’t, this episode of BOOB! Blogs of Other Bloggers is about waiters who rant. You don’t always see them but they’re out there…spitting in your order and making fun of your pants.
Steve Dublanica is a writer and former waiter who turned in his white apron to write about customers and the waiters who serve them. He offers fascinating never-before-heard rants on the behind-the-scene shenanigans of your average bistro. There was so much material out there, Steve decided to write a book in the hopes of making a tip-free living.
The book is called “Waiter Rant: Thanks for the Tip–Confessions of a Cynical Waiter” and the title says it all.
“Waiter Rant” is his blog and it’s well worth reading…especially if you like to laugh while you read. Just stay away from sticky food and only drink the cheap booze if you want to keep your computer lint-free and smelling good.
I’ve blogged about Steve before here and I’ve been meaning to get him down here to Blogdramedy Central.
But I can’t afford his rates. I need every penny for tips.

I love it that you used the word “moist” in a sentence.
Funny but I was thinking of you when I wrote it…
P.S. I’ll be looking into Steve’s blog with great interest. By far most waiters I’ve ever seen have been great at what they do, especially under the withering assholiness of The Public. I’ve seen so much boorish behavior from The Public it boggles the mind. I will visit Steve’s blog and see how that narrative translates into the blogging form. It is very much a story that needs to be told!
Steve really supports the good waiters and spanks the bad ones. His stories are hilarious and I read his book last year. Good stuff. I’m heading off to the “big city” Wednesday (translation: actual real life bookstores and…shoes!) so want to see if his next book on tipping is out.
