I like challenges so much I went on a quest — on purpose — to find another writing challenge. And I found one I like!
It’s called 100 Word Challenge for Grown Ups or 100WCGU for short. The challenge is hosted by Julia’s Place, where she tosses out a weekly prompt and you have 100 words (plus the number of words in the prompt) to write a short story.
I found the challenge through Lime Bird Writers (a cool writers site) and as I’m a former Lime(y) and over the pond I’d be considered a “bird,” I thought…I can do this!
So, this is me. Doing it.

Girlfriends
“So Nurse Jane tells me you woke with another headache.” Doctor Jarvis frowned as he loosened her arm restraints.
If you’d do your rounds an hour earlier, you’d know why I woke with another headache.
The speakers surrounding the bed gave off a slight static hum. The doctor seemed not to notice.
“Let the therapy do its job. Music soothes the savage beast and we found it works wonders with our patients. We’ve got some Vivaldi on the program tonight.”
Melissa flinched as Jane smirked in the doorway and held up a CD titled “Heavy Metal of the 80s.”
All because he liked me more.

fab! Love your entry!
I like this!
I saw that Dave over at 1ptperspective had done this particular challenge as well. I’m going to pop over to Julia’s Place and check it out.
I’m going to re-start the Seven Deadly Sins Series writing contest again (I took time off to recover from surgery). I do hope you’ll join in that as well.
Hey you! That’s so…wha? Huh? What do you mean Dave has done this challenge…like…he just has to copy everything I do.
He’s such a BOOB! Or wishes… *smirk*
I heard about that sin series. I was so totally going to give it a try and then life smacked me in the face and screamed, “pay attention to me” so I didn’t. Can a person just do a few sins and…what does that make them? Only partially deadly? Like a gunshot wound that only grazes?
Sounds like recovery is working for you if you’re ready to get back to something so…sinful.
Thanks! I do so love being fab.
Well that’s lucky!
Oh, while I’ve got you… you fancy entering our big 1st birthday giveaway?

You’re giving something away? Why would you do that? You Lime Birds sure are nice.
I’ll go take a look.
Oh we’re giving quite a few things away my friend!
Cool, I like what you did with the prompt!
That prompt gave me a headache.
Hahahaha!
So you like quirky humor with a dark side. Good to know.
Ooh, that sneaky Nurse Jane!
Oh yeah.
This is thought-provoking. Maybe Charlotte Perkins Gilman was a Van Halen fan.
I didn’t say they were thoughts that made sense.
Makes total sense. I can see her loving “Hot for Teacher.”
I’m having this whole Bill & Ted reverie, wherein she time-travelled to the Cap Centre in 1982, and “Somebody Get Me A Doctor” inspired her to go back and write “The Yellow Wallpaper.”
I was there. There was no choice but to inhale, albeit second-hand. This could have happened.
Charlotte could have been sitting right next to me. Most excellent.
Well, if she was sitting right next to you that explains soooo much.
Makes you wonder what’s going on in some people’s heads ….. *looks a bit scared at the screen*
PS. Received my e-mail or did it get lost in cyberspace/confiscated by Spam folder?
I think that was a jibe at what’s inside my head. Yes, I think it is! Thanks!
I got your email and replied to change_n_movement. I guess you didn’t get it. Email me at blogdramedy@gmail.com then I’ll reply to THAT email with the floorplans. Technology is our friend dammit.
As noticed – things tend to happen… or not happen. Just to make sure: I’ve sent you an e-mail with attachments.
Shall I assume it hasn’t arrived?
Double f&*^. I got the email, read it and was just about to download when the Mister distracted me and I totally forgot. Smack me.
I just opened the PDFs and they are perfect! Thank you so much for doing this!!
As it’s been quite a while since I’ve done a blog update, this will give me the kick in the butt I need to get one written. I’ve also been distracted by trying to plan our really big trip to Italy next May. First time and we’re going for two months so lots of places to check out all the while trying to stay within budget. *sigh*
Again, thanks. Expect a post in the next couple of days.

It arrived! And it’s great. I hope to blog about it in the next few days.
You are a star!
