And so BlogFestivus 2012 comes to the end of the line…not with a bang but with a hells to the yes.
This writing challenge grew three sizes this year. Twenty-one joy train riders (originally twenty-two but we lost one to the nog) got their tickets punched and joined in for this epic celebration of writing creativity. And no characters died. They got broken, but not bloody. (I held out hope until the very end and was mildly disappointed…but I’ll cope.)
In the spirit of the holidays, I’m going to include links to your blogs on my Writing Challenge page. Yes, you were that good.
So to all of you who participated, thank you! Line up under the mistletoe and pucker up. This one’s for each and every one of you.
BlogFestivus Jingle
(to the tune of The Christmas Song aka Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire)
Steve Betz roasting on an open fire,
Rewind Revise nipping on his nose,
Yuletide carols being sung by Lenore Diane,
And Shouts from the Abyss and Fix It or Deal dressed up like Eskimos.Everybody knows Lynn Schneider Books and some mistletoe,
Help to make 1 Point Perspective bright.
So I Went Undercover and Joe Owen’s Blog with their eyes all aglow,
Will find it hard to sleep tonight.They know that MC’s Whispers on her way;
She’s loaded lots of LittleWonder2 and Blog It or Lose It! on her sleigh.
And every Voice in Me is going to spy,
To see if Apprentice, never master and A Year of Daily Posts really know how to fly.And so Dot Knows! is offering this simple phrase,
To k8edid and kids from one to ninety-two,
Although its been said The Day After, many times, many Random Says,
A very A Spoonful of Suga to you.Happy Holidays! — Merry Christmas! — Season’s Greetings! — Happy Festivus for the rest of us!
—
LOL! Way to go out in style. However, since we’ve now come to the “Airing of Grievances” portion of the season, I’d like to point out that I was the one who want to roast over the open fire! [stamping foot]
Oh. Denial. Very, very clever. I see what you did there.
Merry BlogFestivus, everyone!
That can be arranged.
Why do all good things have to end? I think it is time to re-write that saying! Anyhoo, thanks Blogdramedy for this fun exercise. Even though I morphed it into something else, I enjoyed the prompt. Great job with this tribute!
Just happy you enjoyed it. Thanks and happy holidays!
Thank you, BD!! I am so glad that I signed up for BlogFestivus again this year. And I can’t believe that I didn’t kill anything. Reindeer are just too cute, I suppose. Can’t wait to see what you cook up for next year!
I know! What is wrong with us? Let’s pledge to make it bad and bloody next year. Happy Holidays!
Great Blogfestivus Thank you in verse! Thank you for the challenge- I really enjoyed it and also enjoyed meeting all the participants on the journey. I am missing writing about reindeer already! Looking forward to later in the year (June?) and then next Christmas already….Thanks
Oh my. You ARE keen. Not sure if BlogShorts is going to happen in June…I’ll be out of the country and leaving my laptop at home. Maybe August…the dog days of summer. Now there’s a theme! Glad you enjoyed. Happy Holidays!
BD — thanks for inspiring/brow-beating us to reach for the stars. Well, if not the stars, maybe that big bottle of bourbon.
Happy BlogFestivus to all!!!
It was a pleasure. And I’m sure there must be a bourbon-shaped constellation out there somewhere. Let’s go check.
Happy Holidays!
Big thanks for allowing me to jump on board, even though I was new to blogging. It’s been a great experience, and if I’m still around next year I’ll be queuing to get my ticket. Even bigger thanks for the verse, I was actually singing along to it.
Well, Merry Christmas and thanks again.
You are very welcome. Glad you enjoyed. Have a wonderful holiday and keep up with the blogging.
Why yes, I do know how to fly.
Thanks for putting this together for us! I had a blast thinking up new things for the reindeer to do every day. It was a wonderful way to get geared up for the holidays, and release a little of that yuletide stress.
Glad you enjoyed! Maybe you’ll want to join in for BlogShorts next year. 30 days. 30 short stories.
Count me in!
Done.
Without your challenge and firm hand, I would have never posted all of those! I eagerly await the guidelines for mnext year’s challenge. I heard a little something about booze and lightbulbs?
And here I thought I was more of “an easy touch.” Glad you enjoyed. Maybe you’ll join in for BlogShorts. It’s right up your alley.
BlogShorts – up my alley? I suppose that’s preferable to BlogAlleys, right up my shorts.
Well, I don’t know. I guess it depends on how crowded it is up there.
Thank you for organizing this. It was very fun!
Oh, and I want to point out that I *did* kill off Dasher at the very beginning, though that seems so long ago…
Wait. You mean I forgot about that? I blame it on too much BlogFestivus punch.
I don’t think anyone actually died in any of mine. You sicko. My hero!
It WAS a blood-free challenge. Better luck next time.
I’d wish I could make rhymes like that. Very well done!
It wasn’t that hard…the song was already written.
BlogShorts, you say? Next year, you say?
Well. There goes Christmas!
Forget I mentioned anything.
Wonderful! Just got back from the holiday trip and found this lovely surprise! Thanks for organising the BlogFestivus!
Then consider BlogFestivus our holiday gift to you.
