I thought I was the only one nuts enough to write two blogs. Then I find out that the guy who writes Blurt…the omnipotent Omawarisan…has started a second blog, too.
I could toss out that line about “great minds…” but something tells me you’d focus on the second part “…fools seldom differ.”
Oma decided he wanted to write to a theme. He’s retiring later this year so perhaps this is his way of reassuring his brain that it will not go to mush. He’s not going to wander the streets he once patrolled, mindless and alone. If that ever did happen, I’d keep him company. Him, me, the open road. We’d write a book together. How’s “Roadkill” grab you?
But back to my quickly diminishing point…his new blog is called “Stream These Flix — What To Watch On Netflix.” Catchy, no? Hell to the yes. He’s a born headline maker…but in a good way…not a scary serial killer way.
He’ll be surfing through Netflix and picking out movies that he likes and telling us about them. He’ll include a link to the movie along with a trailer and you get to take a poll. I LOVE polls!
There is no bad here. Anyone who has signed up for Netflix knows there’s a fair amount of “damn, that sucked” when picking a movie to watch. Oma is going to take that worry off your shoulder and as long as you like what he likes, it’s all good. But, how can you dislike something Oma likes? That would make you a curmudgeon and someone with bad taste in movies.
But of course, we all have a little curmudgeon deep down inside so while I don’t expect fur to fly, I do expect some gnashing of teeth in the comment section. At least I certainly hope so!
Good luck with the new blog, Oma!
PS — thanks to everyone who commented on last Friday’s post about how YOU blog. All good information and I think I have a blogging plan in place. Or maybe it’s a strategy. With goals and objectives and tactics…or maybe I’ll just shut up and write.

I’m already a fan of Oma’s new blog and suggest you all check it out.
It’s the only responsible thing to do.
I suppose I have anew blog to sample. Thanks BD for the heads up. I will also check out your blog about…blogging. Somehow i missed it I guess.
It’s all about the blog love.
Ever since reading Friday’s I’ve been thinking about starting a second blog that’s more serious/confessional. DAMN YOU!
Just call me Beelzebub.
What do you think of using a theme for your blog? I am toying with the idea, but I am just not sure…. Is it something you like when you visit a blog?
That is a very good question and something I haven’t considered. Do I prefer a theme…I am drawn to humorous writers, especially dry or sarcastic humor. If I can get a sense of the blogger’s personality I find that appealing. I don’t normally visit sites like photography or crafts…I will visit food blogs and lately, travel blogs but in the main, I go for good funny writing. But now I’ll monitor the sites I visit and get back to you.
I am the same. Despite the fact that I am a stay-at-home mom, I strive to stay away from other stay-at-home mothers’ blogs unless I know they are as snarky and sarcastic as I am. LOL
I know Netflix is very popular but I still like the redbox approach of spinning a real DVD around. No matter the format of delivery the collection of movies within the universe is about the same in either corner – right? I might be missing something since I watched Memento I’ve been stuck in a loop. I guess my dull point (better than diminishing?) is what does Netflix have to do with it. Is it not just a collection of movie reviews?
I have a huge black book full of DVDs collected over the past five years. I go back and watch them again and again. NetFlix I discovered down in Florida last winter when we were buffing up the boat for sale. For the price ($7.99) it was a bargain until you discover there is a lot of really awful movies you have to wade through to find a gem. I think Oma is specifically targeting NetFlix because of the range and variety of films available in one place. Plus, he retires later this year…he’ll have time on his hands.
I too considered starting a second blog. The more I think about it, the more ridiculous it seems. I can barely find things to write about in the one blog I already have, so the thought of trying to maintain another one seems like it would be destined for failure. That doesn’t mean that I doubt Oma or anyone else can’t pull it off, I’m just talking about me.
As for movie reviews, I have enough trouble finding a movie that both my wife and I will enjoy. If I have to add Oma’s opinion in there, it could become too complicated. Still, I’ll read his blog, since I never know when my wife may skip out of town and leave me to my own devices for entertainment.
Oma has an interesting take on the NetFlix variety of movies from what I’ve seen so far. Plus, I like his writing style. As I like yours.
Glad you tossed in that last line – it kept my blog jealousy to a manageable level.
Jealousy? From a Fresh Presser? I don’t think so.
Thank you ma’am. I tried responding earlier from a conference I attended. Guess it didn’t work.
OMG Oma…you’re going to get some very disturbing search terms coming up on your dashboard soon.
I certainly hope so.
You have impeccable taste.
Yes. Yes, I do.
