Liz over at Dot Knows! boarded the joy train back in December as part of the annual BlogFestivus writing challenge. Her stories about One Horn and his efforts to become part of the antler gang were a hoot so I asked her to do something a little different…a picture tale here on Blogdramedy. Enjoy!

How Strange!
I love walking and walking by water is my favourite. But the other day, down by the riverside I noticed some rather strange happenings….
Someone else was curious too…Caractacus the Canadian Goose was intrigued….

“What the heck are they?” he spluttered hoping that everyone would realise that he was the one on the left and that his buddy, Callum-on the right, was superfluous to this bit of the post!
Then this….
Caractacus knew he had to get nearer and launched himself….

Caractacus loved it when the water did that lovely sploshy pattern thing, but all the same he was still focused on what was ahead of him!
Were his eyes deceiving him? Now odd things were happening to colours….

This duck has not been photoshopped or had any other photographic trickery! I haven’t seen one like him before either!
Now this got the attention of some other wildfowl….
But now there were two of them….

“Do you know what?” whispered Deidre Duck, “I sort of wish we had never gone through that weird bridge last week…we’ve have had so much attention that we’ve hardly had a minute to ourselves!”
“Hush now!” said Dandelus Drake, “Think of our bank balance and don’t let on where the bridge is! And anyway, I rather like your green overtones…you look quite marvellous darling!”

“Personally,” said Sidney to his partner Sandy, “I think the whole ‘go through the magic bridge and achieve all your dreams’ has become a millstone round or necks!”
Sandy nodded in agreement but alas, Sidney couldn’t see!
Caractacus found the bridge and this is all I could see of him…
And the magic bridge?
Oh ok….
That’s All!
See Ya xx

Liz: thanks so much for agreeing to guest blog. Love your photographs and the stories you write around them. Keep it up!

None of the pics showed up on this for me. Instead there are empty white boxes with little red X’s in the upper left corners and the caption is written across the center, as well as below. I read the whole post anyway, thinking that perhaps the lack of pictures was a clever little inside joke which I wanted desperately to “get”. I’m pretty sure it’s not a joke, or if it is, I don’t get it. This is like junior high school all over again. I bet I don’t get a date for the dance either ….sigh.
Damn. Will get right on that. I wish it was a clever inside joke.
There’s a good chance it’s just my idiotic computer.
I feel like I’m breaking up with you…it’s not you, it’s me.
Wow…this really IS like junior high school…and high school…and the first few years of college…
I think this is the blogger version of a “Dear John” letter.
I got the boxes, too!! It’s like the time my sister wrote something in invisible ink (actually, vinegar) I couldn’t read it, but it sure did stink. Not that this post stinks, Well…I’m digging myself in deeper. Dave, if you invite me to the dance – I’ll turn you down…then it can be really like junior high.
It’s a post about boxes…a coffin. I’m in one now.
If you click on the broken boxes space the pictures come up separately. Now that you’ve read the story, look at the pictures and put the two together. (Yeah I know, it’s a bit of a pain)
It’s not supposed to work that way but thanks for the workaround. Hope to fix shortly.
No one will ever want to guest post here again.
Okay dammit I fixed the images. I think. I’m sure someone will let me know if not. [sarcastic font]
Oh, yeah…there they are. I love the pics. Especially the icebergs.

One of the great things about BlogFestivus is that each year I always meet a few new great voices. You’re a nucleator of fun, BD.
“…a nucleator of fun…” Yep, that’s me. Just call me Radioactive Girl.
I love how you flipped the bridge in the last picture! It lends to the mystery of this life-changing bridge! (Does it works for humans? I really need to shake things up over here.)
Does it work for humans? I don’t know…but Dot Knows!
Must ask, post haste.
